Today, one of our staff decided to come to work dressed in traditional Japanese kimono and hakama. As he had recently been to Japan and bought the attire, he dressed up to give it a “test run” in Norwegian climate. In answer to the obvious question “Isn’t that cold?”, Mr. Fukuda says: “It’s not as bad as you think. The layers insulate pretty well, and I can tuck my arms inside the sleeves to keep my hands warm. But it’s very scary to walk with geta (Japanese wooden sandals) down icy stairs and slopes!”
