Easter time is the time of the year when “all” Norwegians go skiing. Traditionally ski touring or cross country skiing to some mountain top above the tree line at some 800-900 meters altitude.

These pictures  are from Norefjell which is aprox 1 hrs 30 min from Oslo. In 1952 the Olympic games downhill was helt here. Vertical drop is more than 1.000 meters.

The trip lasts some 3-4 hours to the mountain Hogevarde 1341 meters high. The mountain hut is owned by Norwegian Hiking assosiation and has overnight possibilities and self catering when no staff there.
Kiting on the mountain is a new popular sport. Quality Estatia Hotel at Norefjell has connections to Kiting courses.
