Northern Lapland Autumn Tour

TITLEWe have a lot of guests coming to see the Northern Lights in Finland during the winter, but autumn is also a very nice time to come visit beautiful Lapland. For one, it isn’t as cold as midwinter. The daylight hours are also longer, so one can enjoy the day to the fullest. The chances for seeing the Northern Lights are also very good, as the evenings are still dark enough. If you want relaxation and adventures in the nature, Northern Lapland is the place to be.

Following is a 4 days program, offered by one of our suppliers, Wilderness Hotel Nellim. Everything can be arranged through our office, so please contact us if you are interested!AURORA

Day 1
Transfer to Muotka Wilderness Lodge from Ivalo airport. Arriving at the hotel, the staff will welcome you with a warm drink. Your accomodation is in rustic and Lappish style decorated rooms. After settling in, it’s time for a delicious dinner. You have the chance to try the hotel’s smoke sauna, and have a swim in the river running just below. There is a great place to watch for the Northern Lights on the yard. After a long day, you sleep soundly until the following morning.ROOMFELL

Day 2
After breakfast, the guides will do a short briefing about the program. Today’s program will be trekking in the Taiga forest and climbing up to Kiilopää Fell. On the top of the fell, you will be able to see the beautiful scenery of the Saariselkä area. You will enjoy warm drinks during the hike. Once back at the hotel, you can relax in the sauna while you look forward to the delicious dinner. After the day’s trip, you’re hungry as a Lappish wolf!TAIGA

Day 3
After breakfast, you will go by car to visit the Sami museum Siida in Inari. On the way there will also be a stop by the famous panorama cafe at Kaunispää Fell. At the museum, you will see a slide show of the beuatiful Northern Lights. Afterwards, you will enjoy a lunch at Sami Culture Center Sajos. All throughout the day, there will be many stops on the most scenic places to enjoy the landscape and take photos. The trip ends at Wilderness Hotel Nellim where dinner will be served.INARI2

After the dinner and a relaxing sauna, the Hunt for the Northern Lights begins. Your guide will take you close to the Russian border, where the conditions are just perfect. During the trip, you will have plenty of warm drinks and snacks while you wait.

Day 4
The last day is for the departure. If you have a returning flight, the same comfortable buses will take you to the airport in Ivalo. Safe journey, and please come again!
